Grignard
reaction is a very important reaction type in organic synthesis, and has a wide
range of application. Since the reaction is intensely exothermic, it has strict
requirements on the temperature and feed rate. If the cooling facilities were
damaged or the feeding was too fast, the generated heat would not be able to
transferred in time and the production process would get out of control,
causing fire, explosion and other consequences.

Chemical used the lab-scale microchannel reactor to carry out the Grignard
reaction. By using the extremely strong mass transfer and heat transfer
performance of the microreactor, the reaction time can be shortened and the
reaction heat can be removed in time to improve the reaction safety.
